Collaboration and working in groups is a key skill in today’s IT workplace. Group dynamics, politics and feelings could all stop people speaking up about what is and what isn’t working. Come to this informal session to learn about high performing Agile Teams and Groups and what makes some groups work well, and others not so well. Learn the necessary vocabulary and understanding that takes place in high performing teams. You never know, you may learn a new skill to help you in these environments!

How to use Communications Media to get your message across at Oracle Customer Visit Centre 25/05/2017

    Oracle

In today’s fast changing highly connected world, with people switching off from the bombarding of emails, how do you get your message across, what is effective and what doesn’t work?

Has your company set aside a day for “no email”? One accountancy firm did and found that it drove better client engagement…

Of course different solutions work in different organisations. You need to know what is possible.

Two experts will share their experiences, tips and techniques – one from the BCS and one from the IoD. The BCS speaker will be Ruben Bell, Communications Manager for BCS Berkshire. Ruben graduated in Aberdeen with an honours degree in Management and Marketing and has gone on to work for industry leaders such as Coca-Cola and Unipart Group in a variety of roles focused on cultural change, transformations, marketing and communications in the digital world. Of Scandinavian heritage, Ruben speaks Norwegian, Swedish and Danish. For IoD information, see https://www.iod.com/events-community/events/event-details/eventdateid/4429 .

This is the latest in a series of biannual unconferences run by BCS ELITE and the Institute of Directors in Berkshire and hosted by Oracle at their UK headquarters in Thames Valley Park, Reading. Their purpose is to enable businesses and technology leaders to share what works and what doesn’t.

We also run special events for local organisations. Sometimes we advertise external events that may be of interest to our members. Some of our events are supported by volunteers.
